We were in Brasov as part of a motorcycle tour from the UK. On our 'rest' day we wanted to do a walking tour of Bucharest's Old Town and visit the Palace of Parliament. Diana made it very easy to do business with Uncover Romania. She quickly organised a bus and a guide, at reasonable expense, and we had a very good experience. Emilia, our highly knowledgeable guide, was an absolute star. Even though many of her responses to our questions began with the caveat "it's complicated" Emilia provided us with thoroughly entertaining and detailed explanations of the city's, and Romania's, rich history.Happy customers? Yes! Recommended? Highly!

Retezat Mountain Hiking
Prior to our hike:
Diana was extremely efficient, quick to respond, resourceful, and helpful. I would say we were a little high maintenance during this phase of the booking, but Diana endured us and was very professional.
Florin our guide met with us the night before and went over our hiking options. What we really appreciated was how bespoke it all was - he waited until the last day to determine best routes based on weather that weekend.
During our hike:
Florin was extremely knowledgeable and I felt we learned as much about Romania and Romanian history and culture as we did about our immediate landscape. He was very good at "reading" us both and accommodating our fitness/ levels

Invaluable
My wife and I cannot recommend this private tour enough! Our guide, Diana, was personable, punctual, and extremely insightful. You will learn a lot about life under Communist rule in Romania (especially during Ceausescu's dictatorship). All of the sights were visually and historically fascinating. If you book the tour on a day when Primaverii Palace (Ceausescu's home) is closed, be sure to schedule time to see it while in Bucharest. The home richly embodies the lifestyle and aspirations of the dictator and his family. On the tour you will visit Primaverii Palace, Palace of the Parliament, the Athenaeum, "hidden" churches, and other important landmarks. While you can technically see these places on your own, there is not

Fascinating Transylvania Tour
My family booked a four day tour in Transylvania. We were particularly interested in visiting some of the Siebenbuergen (towns that were settled by Germans beginning in the 12th century) We spent a day in Bucharest and then visited Brasov, Sighisoara, and Sibiu. Diana was very knowledgeable about Romania's history and the particular sites that we visited. Her restaurant recommendations were very good and saved us a lot of time trying to decide where to eat. The hotels and guesthouses in which we stayed were all clean and pleasant. We had a great time and learned a lot as well.

Exploring Maramures the best way
I found Uncover Romania and Diana through an internet search for walking tours in Maramures. Communicating with Diana was very easy and fast. She put together a 1-week itinerary that covered many aspects of the area. Instead of moving from place to place, she arranged for us to stay the week at the Pensiunea Mara in Deseşti and explore from there. Some days we did short walks to nearby villages and one day we walked from the Gutai Pass to Creasta Cocosului to the guesthouse. It was a long walk but so worth it to explore the countryside. Deseşti is the location of a lovely 18th century UNESCO listed wooden church. Other days Diana drove us to Sighetu Marmatiei, Sarbi, Sapanta, UNESCO listed wooden churches, local craftspeople, and some le

A great day
Thank you for such a great day! We truly appreciated and enjoyed you sharing your knowledge, expertise and passion for Bucharest! We would not have been able to truly appreciate the city without you and the information that you provided (despite the unseasonably frigid temperatures!).

More than a communist tour
My guide Diana went above and beyond what I was expecting of the tour. she was great in her knowledge not just of the city but Romania has a whole, and did not mind answering questions in regards to all of Romanians history and culture. with a focus mainly on the communist era of Bucharest. The highlights for me where seeing Revolution Square and seeing Ceausescu house. and it ending on the balcony on the parliament. Defiantly worth the price!!

Friendly and knowledgeable guide
We had an opportunity to have historical tour of Bucharest with Ms. Diana. She was the most learned guide in our tour of 20 days. It was an educative experience to learn about the history of Romania, architecture of city and people. We had almost half day tour with her. She knows everything by heart and to listen to her is a pleasing experience. She ended the tour with lunch at Manuk inn, which was an ultimate place. She also gave very useful advice about restaurants in other cities and we truly enjoyed.

Educational, sad and intriguing
A great city to explore. So much history but history that is so recent. You'd only understand this if you have experienced it yourself. Diane was great. Value for money was great. Truly life changing.

Very enjoyable and informative 9-day tour in Romania
My husband and I have recently returned from a very enjoyable and informative 9-day tour in Romania, planned to suit our specific requirements by Diana Condrea. Diana fulfilled our expectations superbly.
Diana speaks English fluently. As she is very knowledgeable about Romanian history and culture she was the perfect guide to the UNESCO World Heritage sites we wanted to visit. She also has excellent communication skills, providing detailed information whenever we requested it, and placing that information in a relevant context to help us understand some of the complexities of Romania’s checkered history. We found this very useful as it added to our appreciation of the various sites we visited.
