This document describes how we use and process your personal data in regards to our two websites: www.uncover-romania.com and www.uncover-romania-tours.com.

First of all, your privacy is important to us. We are committed to safeguarding and protecting any personal data you give us. Furthermore, we are transparent about the processing of your personal data.

We collect the following information:
We don’t collect any credit card payment information related to your use of our online shop. All credit card payments are handled by a third-party specialized company.
In case you book one of our tours sold on www.uncover-romania-tours.com, it’s very likely that you’ll do the tour with some of your friends or family members whose details you provide as part of your Tour Contract/Booking Reservation.
Please consider that it’s your responsibility to ensure the person or people whose personal information you provided to us are aware that you’ve done so and have accepted how we use their information (according to this Privacy Policy).
Furthermore, it’s likely that you’ll buy one of the products sold on our online shop from www.uncover-romania.com as a gift for a third party. If you provide us any personal data of this third party regarding the delivery address, email, phone number or any other information that can be considered personal, you should ensure that the third party has accepted how we use their information (according to this Privacy Policy).
We automatically collect certain information when you visit our website through the cookies installed on our website. We do this to offer you a better experience the next time you visit.

3. Online account creation
Uncover Romania users can create a user account on our website if they wish to buy products from our online shop on www.uncover-romania.com. We use the information you give us to administer this account, allowing you to do several useful things like creating a wish list or checking the status of your order.
You can delete your user account at any time by signing in to your account on Uncover Romania website and removing your account.
4. To administer and deliver your online order
We collect personal data like your name, phone number, and postal address to deliver the products you buy from our online shop on www.uncover-romania.com.
5. To book a tour
Each tour booked via www.uncover-romania-tours.com requires a valid contract between the two parties (the Provider and the Client). Information like your first name, surname, address, email, phone number, and passport number/issued by are mandatory according to Romanian legislation (Order nr. 1387/2015 published in the Official Monitor with no. 122 on 17/02/2016)
Performance of a Contract
For purposes 4 and 5 mentioned above, we rely on the legal basis that the processing of personal data is necessary for the performance of a contract, either to deliver your order from our online shop on www.uncover-romania.com or to finalize and administer your tour reservation.
If the needed personal data is not provided, we cannot process your online shopping order or secure your tour reservation.
Legitimate interests
We may use your information for our legitimate interests, such as providing you with the best appropriate content for the website and newsletters, to improve and promote our products and services and the content on our website, and for administrative, and legal purposes.
This legal basis is used for points 1, 2, and 3.
Where needed under applicable law, we will ask for your consent prior to processing your personal data for direct marketing purposes.
In certain circumstances, we’ll share your personal data with third parties.
1. Payment Providers and other financial institutions
The company that handles all credit card payments on our online shop. The data we share includes your name, email address, and the value of your purchase.
Payment providers are not allowed to use your personal data for other purposes besides completing the online payment for your purchase.
We may share information with relevant financial institutions if we consider it strictly necessary for fraud detection and prevention purposes.
2. Competent Authorities
We will only disclose personal data to law enforcement as it is required by law or is strictly necessary for the prevention, detection, or prosecution of criminal acts and fraud or if we're otherwise legally obliged to do so. We may need to further disclose personal data to competent authorities to protect and defend our rights or properties, or the rights and properties of our business partners.
3. Business Partners
We work with several business partners to promote our websites and services, but also to implement our tours. However, we do not share your personal data with them except in very specific cases.
Examples:
If we book accommodation for a tour you bought from us, we might provide the unit with your names simply to speed up the check-in process.
If you wish to personalize one of the products (created by one of our business partners) from our online shop.
When we have to deliver your order from our online shop, we have to give your contact details to the delivery company.
For fraud detection and prevention purposes and as strictly necessary, we may also exchange information about our users with business partners.
4. Participation in affiliate programs
We are currently part of the affiliate program of Booking.com. We added affiliate links and other affiliate products (search boxes, banners) on various pages of www.uncover-romania.com. Upon click, these links and products will take you to various pages on www.booking.com that have their own Privacy Statement that you should read.
We use social media channels to promote our website and travel-related products.
We don’t require you at any time to log in with your social media accounts on our website. As such, we never record your social media passwords or username.
Integration of social media plugins
We also integrated social media plugins into our website. This means that when you click on one of the buttons (for example Twitter’s ‘Tweet’ button) certain information is shared with these social media providers. If you're logged in to your social media account at the same time, your social media provider may relate this information to your social media account and possibly present your actions on your social media profile to be shared with others in your network.
You can opt-out, by turning off the marketing cookies in the Cookie Alert Window.
We observe reasonable procedures to prevent unauthorized access to, and the misuse of, personal data.
